My work investigates the transformation of painting and drawing into an existential drama with compositions of colour and line in the lead role. With this dance of elements, each work becomes a new entity, and not just a reflection of nature.

 

It’s reminiscent of the Fauvists, who emphasised painterly qualities and strong colour over the representational or realistic values, shocking the art world by its unexpected and sometimes shocking use of colour.

 

In much the same way I want to use colour and line as the vehicle to express my understanding of the deep connection that underpins everything.

 

The viewer will be challenged to look at objects, subjects, and the world they live in, from a different perspective.

 

I studied BA Fine Art in South Africa, where I’m originally from. Apart from my London solo exhibition called ‘Colour Connect’ in 2016, I have taken part in many art fairs and group exhibitions.
