Will Budgett’s work delves into the interplay between light and shadow. His abstract sculptures, when illuminated by multiple lights create projected shadows that reveal identifiable forms. He seeks to create a dialogue between light and darkness, stillness and motion.

His sculpture’s industrial strength represents the enduring aspects of existence, in contrast, the light that illuminates the dancers symbolises the fleeting, transient moments of our lives. This juxtaposition invites viewers to contemplate the tension between what is permanent and what is momentary. Light, in his work, is not just a tool but a storyteller, revealing and concealing.
