I spent my childhood surrounded by the incredible natural beauty of Connemara on the West Coast of Ireland. I was not aware of it at the time, but already the mountains, land and sea had imprinted images on my soul. It would find its expression later on through my paintings and sculpture. It was not only the land and seascape, but also the mythology and stories passed down to me from a long line of seanchaí (storytellers.) Although, I have spent the greater part of my life in London, it is those early influences that defined my work and continue to do so.
