I am an abstract artist working with acrylics on canvas to create gestural, expressive paintings bursting with colour and movement. I am interested in where the sea meets the sky and more especially where it meets the land, the joy of the coastline and how it varies along its path.

Filling sketchbooks out in the landscape, I use fresh contemporary palettes to capture a moment, a walk, a storm, a sea, a sky.

These studies inform each canvas by combining creative mark making, and intuitive techniques in a process driven practice. As the layers build and overlap, each mark and colour reacts to the previous line, brushstroke and texture.

My instinctive and organic use of paint and mixed media invite the viewer to journey throughout the canvas with freedom and movement discovering moments of energy, intrigue and tranquility.”
