Sostres, Minuca

Originally from Barcelona, Minuca Sostres graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and worked as a freelance illustrator for more than 20 years, getting commissions from graphic design studios, advertising agencies and publishers. She moved to London to enhance her career development working in the animation industry for several years. Despite her trajectory as a professional illustrator, she has always painted for pleasure and on commission. Her passion for drawing the human figure led her to win the first prize twice at The Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, London’s largest life drawing group, based at the Mall Galleries. After a long motherhood break and moving countries twice, Minuca continues to thrive developing her creative career as a professional artist. She currently lives in Surrey, just south west of London, with her husband and three children. Her work has been sold regionally, nationally and around Europe. She paints still life, animal portraits, ballet scenes, but what she enjoys the most is the female figure. Her intention as an artist is to evoke a pleasant sensation in the viewer creating harmonious artworks that suggest memories or hints of their own world. Minuca seeks challenges, constantly pushing herself beyond boundaries, evolving and growing professionally and artistically.
