Zhu, Estelle

Estelle (Jiayun) Zhu is the artist behind soussans, a contemporary silk art and jewellery studio based in the UK. Her work explores the relationship between traditional textile craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression, drawing inspiration from nature, travel, Eastern aesthetics and cultural heritage. Using hand-shaped silk elements, she creates lightweight sculptural pieces that celebrate colour, movement and delicate detail. Each work is designed and handmade in her studio, combining traditional techniques with a modern visual language. Her practice focuses on transforming silk into wearable and decorative artworks that bring beauty, individuality and a sense of poetry into everyday life.
