Snow, Askian

Askian Snow is a London-based artist who specialises in fine art oil paintings. The name Askian derives from the Greek word askios, where those who live vertically below the sun, cast no shadow.

The artist seeks anonymity, not because they are reclusive, but rather as a statement against the tsunami of AI art that has flooded our world and the focus on personality.

Askian Snow wishes to exist, without a presence. They wish the relationship to be directly between the viewer and the artefact. Without distracting filters.

The artist makes every single mark on the canvas count. This follows a lifetime of physical practice. Thus, now exists, a deep understanding of how the pigments work, the canvas behaves and how the mind and body all unite to create a natural flow.

Askian Snow has been a practising artist for over 40 years and has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Their work is held in numerous collections.
