Chardon, Amy
Cavebright’s beginnings were my home in Islington, London. My home is a cosy basement flat that is affectionately known as ‘the cave’ by those around me. I wanted to create objects to brighten my home. I began making Cavebright homewares in the cave, however I have now moved into a (much more spacious) dedicated maker space within Somerset House.
I’ve always had an interest in making things, even from a young age. I have become particularly drawn to using the casting technique for making items, with the creation of the moulds being an art of its own. I have continuously experimented with developing moulds myself. Processes have involved 3d printing, pressure forming and refining for many iterations until I was happy.
At the Untitled Art Fair, I will be showing my Dino Lamps, which I hope will brighten your cave too!
