Klip, Oxana
Oxana is a classically trained portrait and figurative artist based in Surrey. She received her BA (Hons) from the University for the Creative Arts before continuing her studies at the Heatherley’s school of Fine Art in London. Later, she enrolled in prestigious Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, where she worked directly from life, mastering the disciplines of portraiture and drawing. It was during her time in Italy that her enduring passion for plein air painting developed, inspired by the ever changing light of the Tuscan landscape. Seeking to deepen her understanding of traditional techniques and artistic processes, Oxana subsequently enrolled at the Imperial Academy of Art in St Petersburg. She spent five rigorous years there immersed in the rigorous academic traditions of the Old Masters, refining her command of anatomy, colour theory, and the craft of painting. Central to Oxana’s practice is the belief that painting transcends mere representation of the visible world. Her work seeks to capture the inner character and essential spirit of her subjects — revealing through brushwork the subtle nuances of personality, emotion, and presence that bring a portrait vividly to life on canvas. With more than fifteen years of professional practice, Oxana’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions both in the United Kingdom and internationally. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Oxana offers a variety of art services including commissioned paintings, custom portraits, pleinair workshops, and online tutorials.
