d’Auvergne, Lucy
Lucy d’Auvergne is an award-winning animal sculptor who has explored wild and domestic species professionally as an artist, filmmaker and conservationist for over 30 years. She’s been privileged to work with a diverse range of animals from wild chimpanzees to Eurasian otters, gaining a profound depth of knowledge, empathy, and understanding of other species.
Through sculpture she weaves the threads of her animal-inspired life into something tangible, evocative and lasting, creating limited editions and private commissions in cast stone and metals. Over time she has developed her own novel method of colouring her work using raw Earth pigments to create surfaces and tones that echo of the soft, organic qualities of fur. Rendering each piece unique, much like the animals who inspire her.
