Narayn, Johanne

Johanne Narayn is a UK-based Fine Artist with a Trinidadian and Irish background.

This culturally rich heritage has been the biggest influence on her artwork.

She grew up on tales of Irish folklore and stories of the exotic islands in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago. In Johanne’s family garden she painted the flowers her Mother, a  floral artist, had grown for her to draw while studying graphic design and fine art at College – flowers such as giant red Oriental Poppies.

Johanne is an expressive artist who aims to use elements of nature’s shapes and colour harmonies to evoke positive, feel-good emotions.  Her work is colourful and joyful.  Her current subject is the Flora and Fauna of Trinidad.  She has illustrated a book  based on the birds of Trinidad by Christine Cardinez and Angel’s Music School in Trinidad.
