Solana, Nicole

Nicole Solana is a multidisciplinary artist from Toronto, currently based in London, UK. She began her visual artistic journey by hosting gatherings with her friends to paint together, aiming to create a positive outlet for expression through art. Her work mainly consists of oil and watercolour paintings; capturing abstract and autobiographical scenes, with vibrant colour schemes and compositions inspired by her love of photography.

Nicole graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance from Toronto Metropolitan University. Her affinity for movement is evident in her work, often creating cascading strokes and dynamic textures. Her autobiographical oil paintings tell stories of shared experiences and the peace found in solitude. 

Since moving to London, Nicole has used art to ground herself during times of uncertainty and to connect with her loved ones far away. She is motivated by the curative aspects of art, and finding community in those who embrace their creativity through a variety of mediums and perspectives.

Nicole is excited to premiere her artwork as an emerging artist at the Untitled Artists’ Fair; uninhibited by external expectations, and informed by her passion to create and live freely.
