Tanyeri, Tansel

​Born in 1973 in a town in Turkey renowned for its bards and poets, the artist’s early curiosity about the cosmos and its mysteries led to a formal education in physics. Following this academic journey, they delved into the study of Sufism in the early 2000s and expanded their focus to the history of philosophy from 2010 onwards. In 2021, they relocated to London to seek a new beginning, where they now translate their years of intellectual inquiry onto canvas.

​Describing art as “a language of remembering and reminding, where the forgotten, the lost, and the unseen transformations find new life through colour and line,” the artist approaches their work not through the anxiety of artistic output, but as an observer of the world, capturing these reflections in their paintings.
